Mahmood Rafique is Bahrain-based journalist and has 22 years experience in print media. He is Masters in Mass Communication from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan.
Started his career as reporter in Lahore in 1989, and remained associated with different daily newspapers. He was Bureau Chief at the Daily Frontier Post before moving to Manama Bahrain in 1998. In Bahrain he served over 10 years with Daily Bahrain Tribune, the only broadsheet paper on the Island. He has been working for the Arab News, a Jeddah-based largest English Daily in the Middle East, as a Correspondent in the Kingdom of Bahrain since 2005.
In 2010, he quit Bahrain Tribune and set-up his own Media, Public Relations, Advertising and Event Management Co. Two Way Communication Co. WLL. In addition, he launched the first complete on line paper the 24X7 News Bahrain 
( January 2011 and in May the portal won the Bahrain eContent Award 2011, a very prestigious award envisaged by the United Nations to address the digital gaps in the developing countries. The 2011 eContent Award was given on the judgement of a jury comprised of experts from 34 countries who met in Hong Kong and voted the 24X7 News Bahrain as the best English language portal.  The 24X7 News Bahrain started 2012 by winning the Best Social Media Publisher Award being the best online paper among the top four portals in Bahrain. Presently the 24X7 News has offices in Bahrain and expansion plans in the 2012 will see opening of offices in Toronto, Canada, Lahore, Pakistan in addition to the GCC countries.  The 24X7 News Bahrain is registered with the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) and managed by the Two Way Communication Co. Editor and freelance translator, he carries out regular activities as speaker and lecturer. Student of Islamic Sciences, he attends continuous-learning courses with various Muslims Scholars (‘Ulamâ’), from whom he obtained traditional broadcasting licenses (ijâzât).
